A-League Goal of the Year 2009/10 - Archie Thompson

Although I do not agree with this decision, Archie Thompson has been awarded the Hyundai A-League Goal of the Season thanks to his goal against Gold Coast United in Round 16 of the 2009./10 A-League Season.

IMHO Carlos Hernandez goal against Gold Coast earlier in the season was a far better goal. But this was definitely 'one of' the goals of the season.

I was there as well, and he clearly wanted to hit the ball with the inside with his foot, and hit it with the outside and it went in. But yeah Fowlers goal was also very good.

Not taking anything away from this goal...Melbourne was on fire this night..this goal was good in its own way, great build up, great finish. The Hernandez goal was hands above the rest. Pure Strike.
