Well perhaps not every company is as ethical as yours? I'm sure there are many in your line of work that do do it, perhaps not at work but at home. Afterall they do have the means and knowledge to do so "easily", as stated in this video. And who would profit more from malware than the people being paid to get rid of it? It's all too convenient, one would have to be naive to not think it happens.
Again, not pointing the finger at you, just speaking generally.
