Frell - the Rainbow Lorikeet - Ball play and talking

This is Frell, hes my pet rainbow lorikeet.
I hand raised this baby since he was 2 weeks old.
When he raises his foot and says hello hes pretending his foot is the phone.

I have 5 cats (had 6 sadly after Feb 2011 earthquake here my little girl Mascherina lost her life - I miss her) all adopted as kittens from shelters/bad situations. Mascherina was lovely to watch with Bello she used to head butt him & purr copiously :) 1 morning Bello escaped from cage found him on the floor surrounded by all cats & 1 curious dog, he has an amazing way of holdin his own, raises a claw at them all & has beak @ the ready, guess it helps they all grew up together, lol.

@ybleu1 Yeah, i have had a rainbow lori before and it got along nicely with my friends dog - used to ride its back. I just did not want to divide my time between to many pets/kids :)

Very happy 2 hear he went to a good home :) He's adorable, I have 1 "Bello" he is fine with my felines & dogs+cockatiel ...But I cannot show them affection when he's on my shoulder as he will lunge at them :( he's fine 2 run around on the ground with them,they get on well. Back to Frell though,he is a great talker,I bet his new owners were very impressed with his vocabulary, if Bello had half his word power I would be ecstatic!Do you think you might ever be tempted to have another at some point?

@ybleu1 we have cats now, not sure they would mix so well! I may be tempted, but currently no time left (the kids are teenagers now). Maybe when kids leave home?

You say you do not have Frell anymore did you re-home him? Thanks...

@ybleu1 Yep, he got very aggressive during puberty and we had young children at the time. We re-homed him with somebody who had less young children and plenty of time

@860175 i trained my white eyed conure to poop in kitty litter and to poop before she gets on my shoulder, so it can be done.

They live a long time, I heard 50 years. We taught ours a lot of different whistles and it can say "Hello" and it mimics our laughs. Ours cost us $50 from a baby.

THEY ARE EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY LOUD.

Screetching is their forte. They need to be handled every single day to stay tame.

If you don't have the time to pay constant attention to this animal, its not the right animal for you.
