@Shadowhowler42 yeah I know it was your review, very helpful, but i've never had the chance to see it move and close up in detail, thats why I was wondering about a video review......
-
hi is there any chance of you doing a full review of this, perhaps compare to any other rapiers you may have? I've read the review on SBG but i'd like to see it more in detail.
-
@Ianflaer ok sry man didnt understand and i too like broadswords
-
@Kelvarra of course I do, it is a joke about their thin little blades. I'm a broadsword guy and I like to tease howler here as you can see he and I went back and forth quite a bit. I assure you it was all in good fun. in all seriousness the rapier is a deadly weapon and has my respect, but it's still a hotdog cooker. ;)

beautiful sword where did you buy?
-
@Ianflaer by those wires you dont mean rapiers right?
-
Ha! Take THAT tidy cats litter!

I got this sword 30 minutes ago. I must say that I'm totally amazed!
Perhaps my favourite one. :D

@jagerma5ter The review on SBG of this sword was my review. All of the Hanwei rapiers are, for the most part, about the same. Most of them use the same blade and had the same hollow plastic grip core. They are ok options if you only have 150 bucks, but its hard to find a GOOD rapier under 800. :(

A "Solingen rapier" from China ? That's like "Mercedes 500 SL from Beijing Automotive Inc.".

Heh. :)
Most of the functional swords made today are made in china... sign of the times.

yikes! - I read where by the start of the 16th. century the "Rapier" was considered to have become the BEST self defense weapon to carry....
...this vid reminds me "WHY?"
.... I'd rather defend against a 8" merc. than an 8" ice-pick...
& I'm not kidding!!!! :+0))
... Nice! - and that is JUST the rapier I've been tempted to buy! .....thanks! :+]

Rapiers and fencing are VERY different then the cut-orrintated style swords we focus on here... but I love them. Some of my best memories are fencing with my father. A skiller fencer with a good rapier can attack VERY fast of from a good distance.
I've never fought./sparred with a fencing style vs someone using a cutting style... like Kenjitsu of Sword and Board... could be interesting.
I'll have to get back in shape and try it.
;)
