Wow, I was taken back seeing John K Samson and John Darnielle on the same stage sitting right next to each other. It kinda makes me wonder how the universe didn't implode on that spot.

Thats just how he is. It's one of the things that makes him so great. If you watch almost any and all clips of his live performances he'll have just jeans and some random haggard t shirt and his hair looks like he just woke up but the amazing songs he comes out with kinda make you laugh at how every other band out there feels the need to dress the part, and still fall short of how good John K Samson is.
