First off I want to say "THANKS!" to Amazon for the great support they provide their customers. I'm always amazed when I have an issue with a purchase because Amazon always steps up to the plate and helps, no matter what the issue is. On to the review...
I've actually received 2 of these monitors and they both had the same problem... For a lack of a better way to describe it.. they both have a lite leak in the bottom right hand corner. One of the monitors was worse than the other in that it had other places that "lite" up the screen. I decided to do a video review because I'm hoping it will better show the problem I've had. I have contacted Samsung twice by phone and three times in email. I haven't heard a word from the email but both of the representatives I spoke with felt they were defective monitors. The last rep was able to pull up the pictures I had sent to see what the issue was. Only suggestion he had was for me to send it to Samsung for repair. I think Samsung should test one to make sure it works ok and send it to me in exchange for one of the bad ones... Of course that's just my thought.
I originally didn't like this monitor because I thought it looked like a sewing machine... :) I have to admit it's a beautiful monitor with spectacular color. Only wish we could resolve the "small" issue I have...
If I don't hear anything more from Samsung I am going to request Amazon to send me a third one in hope it might be a'ok. I'm also going to see if I can find one in a local store to see if they have the same issue.
I'll have to make the final decision on whether or not to live with the distortion. If my background is black, the distortion is light grey, yellow or blue it is black. Not being technical enough I doing know what is creating the issue.
Because I've tired twice and both times failed, I give this monitor a very low score...
My only other complaint is the screen is extremely reflective. It reflect a lot of light behind me when I'm working.
I played a 3d game and it did great. I say that with a grain of salt because I believe 3d is still young and has a long way to go. I didn't install the Samsung 3d software. I ran it off my Nvidia drivers.
My video card is a EVGA GeForce GTX 590 Classified and I'm using the Display Port. The resolution is spectacular. At first it didn't work and I found out the just released beta Nvidia drivers do not support the Display Port. Once I installed the released drivers it came to life with no issues... other than mentioned above... I did have some trouble finding a Display Port cable. Most big box stores are not carrying them yet. The EVGA card has a mini Display Port on it while the monitor has a regular sized one. The video card came with an adapter. I didn't like it because it put alot of weight on the back of my card. I was able to find a mini Display Port to Display Port monster cable on Amazon. Again... Thanks! for Amazon!.
Hope it helps the next buyer or maybe Samsung will fix the issue, because as I said, it is a beautiful monitor!
I've posted the fullsize video on my youtube at: http://youtu.be/imLXo76JGJo
Quick update... I have sent it to Samsung for repair. Pretty stupid... I know... It was the only monitor I could find that had the features I needed... They have told me they will refund the money if it can't be corrected. I found a 23 inch version of this model at a local store and the screen did not have a light leak issue. Hopefully Samsung will get a handle on their manufacturing issues.

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I was thinking about buying the 23 inch version of this monitor, but now I'm not so sure. Thanks!

@dzamora Went through 3 monitors with Amazon and kept the best out of the 3. I have contacted Samsung and they have provided me with a pre-paid shipping lable to RMA it back to them. They are stating that if they cannot correct the problem, they will refund me the cost. I went to a local store here that sell them and they had the 23 inch model on the floor. I could not find any light leak issues on it. This is the only problem I have had with the 27 inch version of the monitor.
