Can you use regular non-rechargable batteries in it too? Or does it have to be the rechargable ones? Also, how long does the solar unit take to recharge the battery?
Thanks much

nice instructive video, without any loud distracting music.

@hunt458 you're suppose to turn the bottle upside down thats why they came up with the most recent one that has a green rubberized insert so the water thats on the bottom can can have accest to the the UV light.

I don't use Nalgene bottles, I always use a Klean Kanteen. I have both 27 and 40 oz bottles but everything I read only talks about 16 and 32 oz bottles. It also sounds like theres a timer thats calibrated for the 16 and 32 oz bottles. I know you need a wide mouth bottle so the sensors are in the water but will it work with a stainless steel bottle in an odd size?

@DrunknShooter the 32oz mode would cover the 27oz kleen, but you may have to repeat to process for the 40oz to be safe. check the FAQ on there website

Use the prefilter in silty water then take it off of the bottle and then use the steripen.
