@RadioTrefoil sarcasm....hmmm, no and i dont know how to make it and the chemicals are probably to hard to get.
-
@scor9977 Make it. Also I detect some sarcasm ;)

@DamersenNetwerk True if you're going to use it pretty soon however when your neutralizing the crystals there is acid trapped inside the crystals that do not show up on your ph test, therefore recrystallizing removes that acid and would definately be preferred if you were going to store it for quite some time.

That's one resilient piece of wood! =/

how do i get some, i have terrible stump problems

Greart video!! was that a Mcdonalds straw you used for the detinator caseing?!?? hahahah anyway that was very cool, could you really use flash powder to set etn off? We make it from all sorts of metals and chlorates etc... We have never tryed AP yet but are looking to make a batch.Keep posting gave a thumbs up too Joseph T fly2000jtb

you shouldnt use AP for detonator... if that is blowing on your face you head is flying as nice as the bricks. you can detonate it with matchheads or flashpowder.

@DamersenNetwerk yes i have been saying that for years its all very good when your making drugs....most explosives come out quite pure there is no need or all that shit

Recristalization is used to break the cristals formed and disolve the contained acids wich may make your mixture decay over time and make it even more sensitive. Also, it removes low nitration leftovers, like Eritrol dinitrate or trinitrate, thus adding more power to the final power.

@DamersenNetwerk the etn crystals still contain some acid that can't be neutralized while they crystals are intact. Once you dissolve them, you neutralize the solution and then recrystallize the fully neutral product. This is only necessary if you don't plan on using the etn fairly quickly (within a couple of months)
how many grams were in that blasting cap?

@sejatski Around .5g

@DamersenNetwerk That was awesome, but just judging by the first clip of the aluminum can you used as a container, it looks like much more than 30g (beverage can ~= 350 mL). Why does the charge look so much bigger than it is?

Excellent question. The soda can in question was actually cut then taped back together to make it smaller. If you look closely you can see that the can is actually about 1.5in in diameter. Lol, optical illusion.

recrystalize it btw:-)

@Viking0fNorway Why would I recrystallize? What is going to contaminate my product? Left over reactants? Everything that goes in and comes out is water soluble with the exception of the product making it super simple to obtain a fairly pure product. Recrystallization sounds like a waste of time unless you want to do it just to gain the lab experience.
