Baby Opossums!!

Still newly-born at the time of filming, my uncle happened to see a dead mother opossum on the side of the road with only two of her babies still alive. He has been taking very good care of them ever since the rescue and has even constructed a replica nest for them. They don't bite and are very friendly as you can see! Enjoy :D

Figured I would add this in here since it's been a while.. They are both still alive and are doing very very well!

By the way, their names are George Jefferson and Wheezy Jefferson.

So it's been a while, but I plan to make
another video with these cuties sometime
soon. They are almost full grown and are
doing fantastic. Hope to get a video up
soon!

Yeah he still has them! They are actually quite big now.. It turns out Wheezy is NOT a girl but actually a boy and has been renamed "Peewee" because of his smaller size.

Oops 1lb.. sorry, they should be released @ 2lbs.. still don't go crazy on the protein though.. =) AND DON'T FORGET TO STIMULATE THEM..

They need more calcium than anything until they are 2lbs (if being handraised) or they can end up with MBD-metabolic bone disease. Which is why yours crawled instead of walking. Esbelac is the best milk for them and things like yogurt and cheese are good too. They are cool little creature! I love em!

FEED HIM CALCIUM my opposum was on the brink of dieing but we had to give her calcium because she became lazy and crawled instead of walked so please give her the recipe a few comments below meee!!

Give them esbalic, dog formula; however, opossums do not "suck" They need to be fed with a dropper or syringe; just let them lick it off the end.

oh and about the Eslibac, i give them whatever he wants, like i always keep a smal cup of Eslibac full for him, another cup of cat food full for him and another cup of veggies for him, he is such a spoiled opossum.

as long as you give them calcium, he should be ok. Whatever you can find that has calcium on it.
