  • @yahwhous point taken it may not appear in his book (I will check again) but on the ESPN interviews he is insistent about it--they are part of a five part VHS series (as I said now no doubt on DVD) made I believe be Pee wee's son (I could be wrong) but if you watch those interviews his views are quite clear. Listen O'Malley was a pig--but he had plans to stay and a mock up of a new stadium.

  • @vivascargill Can you point me to the passages in Caro's great book specifically about Moses preventing the Dodgers from staying in NY?

For the record, Moses was a pig, but this particular charge is thin. At the end of the day, it was O'Malley's decision to move the team to a place he knew would earn him far more money, not Moses' decision.

  • @Signal337 Hey you get to see the fake crap thaT PARADES AS BASEBALL--LIKE THEM STEROIDS? I hear they WARM you up==you want a COLD FACT!! Baseball exists only as a business--the idiotic red sox got rid of Bay sorry why idiotic? That is what it has come to--Have fun!! But you know what you missed it ALL!!

  • @yahwhous bullshit! Read Robert Caro!! O'Malley rots in Hell but Caro knows everything there is to know about Moses and then some--the hell with both of them!

  • AMEN!

  • This idea that Moses caused the Dodgers to leave is pure BS, peddled by this HBO documentary.

Fact: Moses offered the Dodgers land at what later became Shea Stadium. O'Malley said he couldn't possibly move the team to Queens. No, but he could move the team 3,000 miles to L.A.

Fact: Everyone knew O'Malley planned to move to California. A year before the move was announced, the Dodgers played a game in New Jersey. The newspapers described it as his first step in the move West.

  • Hey, Understand the COLD FACTS. There are no "Brooklyn Dodgers". The Brooklyn Dodgers don't exist. Keep that in mind. "Absorb that hard fact." Mr. Robert Moses "screwed" Brooklyn years ago. Too Bad. Brooklyn isn't a Major league Baseball town. "GET IT". Go see "THE METS".

  • This was a great clip from "The Ghosts of Flatbush". A great HBO documentary. If you love the Brooklyn Dodgers or just Baseball, its awesome..

  • O'Malley wasn't staying. He was making a fortune in brooklyn and know matter what he was going to LA. You can blame Moses and Wagner too, but O'Malley is still the culprit..

  • The Last Dance of Victory: "The Dodgers & their Brooklyn Fans. Nobody at the time knew what was ahead. Mr. Robert Moses showed no interest in building a New Baseball Stadium for "The Dodgers" of Brooklyn. "Dodger President Walter O' Malley had enough. O'Malley moved "The Dodgers" to Los Angeles. Blame Former New York City Mayor Robert Wagner & Former New York City Developer Robert Moses. Those 2 New York City Pokiticians blew it for Brooklyn. "The Dodgers" were gone, courtesy of Robert Moses.
