It's spring again and we are getting some migrating hummers. I am concerned though because there seem to be less of them every year. What's happening to the hummers?

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Soon as you move AT ALL they fly away. They don't come around if you are moving. This hand feeding takes some time to accomplish. They don't become tame and fly up to people looking for lunch. You can see in this shot how skittish the bird is; it won't stay for more than a few seconds.

  • Ok I understand that it must be quite amazing, but don't you think conditioning wild animals to become comfortable to humans is a bad thing? We should try to keep them in their most natural state as possible.
