We've got friend who live in 29 Palms. Their back yard is the Joshua Tree National Park. Downside - jarheads and their overweight wives. But meat is cheap at the local groc - Stater Bros. They do try to push their local wines which taste like anti-freeze. It's like when I was in Tucumcari, New Mexico and they tried to push ostrich burgers on us everywhere we went. Someone on the Tucumcari Chamber of Commerce made a big mistake! That was 10 yrs ago. Maybe the ostrich meat market has improved.
I don't see a lot of your comments showing on my page. Is this more Ew-Tubery torturements? I'm a bit on the paranoid side too. I'm reading the Grand Inquisitor's Manual: A History of Terror in the Name of God. It's really good and traces the influence of the Catholic Inquisition all the way to now. They practiced water boarding. One of their favorites. But don't tell Dick Cheney that. He'll poke his fingers in his ears and go lalalala!
Where in the Desert was Robin? I love the California Desert. I think the Mojave is a vast, untapped infinite well of potential energy.

Are they ever going to do something about your scenic "garden" of concrete and rebar? It's been quite a while now, no?

The owner is using it as a mini junk yard. He sold a transmission the other day for cash. What a hustler!
