This is horrible journalism.
-
strategy: interview people who do not know anything about the topic
result: lie to others

@dinger9542 i concur

@drusha1 what are "grey papers"?
-
there are always people who are against progress. building bridges solidifies infrastructure and supplies many temporary jobs. forget about taking a shitty ferry all of the time.
-
yup, there comes another feat of yankee compassion. let the russia stand stagnant and we'll come and give you a shoulder to cry on, pump out your oil and load you up with grey papers - what a great wait to co-operate

Wtf bridge to no where? Why would they build a bridge to no where dumb ass. They building it to a freaking island numnuts. If they building it then they need it so stfu, you just hate Russians u racist ass.

This guy has a really annoying voice.

have you been there? NOPE. I have.
It was most certainly NOT left out. I noticed it back in 2004 when I left Vladivostok. Life was getting better back then already.
Listen less to the stupid american newspapers and their "correspondents".
I bet the New York Times only interviewed people who think the bridge is a bad idea. They and the rest of the US media constantly makes Russia look like a stupid childish country. Out of bridges to nowhere, I think President Obama's 1 Trillion dollar stimulus plan wins the prize for being the most rushed and unneeded wastes of tax payer money in world history.

The Russians are not stupid, under Putin or Medvedev a billion dollars will never be wasted for "nowhere".... the island has importance either financially or politically.
