Here is the true story of when it all goes down. This is the part when Steve Jobs & Apple find out that Bill Gates & Microsoft have stolen Apple's OS, changed some things around & are calling it their own (Windows). *Clip taken from the TNT movie Pirates of Silicon Valley starring Noah Wyle & Anthony Michael Hall, directed by Martyn Burke.

Ripped off? Ripped off is paying the outrageous prices for Apple products that are quickly obsolete. If not for pc's and ms, lower middle class and the poor wouldn't have access to computers in their homes. Do you think a lower class family can afford to drop a $1000+ on an Apple desktop. The "shit" enables them to have a computer in their home that fulfills their needs for 1/3 the price.

  • @godiamone then FUCKING CHANGE and stop complaining you fucktard

  • @RCTPatriot75 Apple products don't get obsolete. They're designed so well for what they do they're serviceable for ages.

  • I wonder what Bill thought about the sex joke.

  • Did this really happen??

  • @RCTPatriot75 you would have better quality "shit" if apples had to take care of the lower to middle class pc needs, stop trying to defend pc its not going to work

  • Just watching them in action through this movie is an experiance itself......two greatest minds....that changed the way the world works and impacted every single civilized person on this planet!

  • @Rhythmattica I have heard the Apple-Xerox thing both ways, I think they atleast gave them the idea and Apple put it into production. Once MS bought the OS, they could do whatever they wanted to with it, thats fair. I have a Windows 7 laptop, Ipod touch and a Droid phone, so I have some of everybody. I just hate when all the fanboys get going and just kill Gates. Gates is no angel and Steve wasn't either.

  • I think the ending, when steve jobs says "were better then you are, we have better stuff" and bill gates says" you dont get it steve, that dosent matter" means that steve thought he was better because he was making fancy computers, where bill knew its the software that counts, bill was only interested in creating better OS, bill knows all along thats where the money lies in the software, where steve thought it was in the hardware, who agrees?

  • @Aarpmen

According to this movie, he wasn't. Xerox's Graphical User Interface was first used in Apple Computer Lisa; the Mac was next. Bill Gates pirated all software from Mac prototypes and called as his own, according to the movie.

And if people are supportive of Microsoft stuff, why don't they follow Ballmer's advice to use Motorola Q instead of Iphone, ha?

  • @ThaChief46

    Not True.

Apple gave Xerox a share swap for utilising the idea.

No Xerox code was used, it was all done in house at apple.

As for IBM, their biggest mistake was not realising they could have bought QDOS from Seattle computer systems for 50 grand.

MS didnt even write the CP/M knock of OS. Just added some code and called it MS-DOS.

BTW, Why do you think apple became so secretive about upcoming products ? Dosent this info give credence?

  • @StudyAcademic Actually, if I'm correct factually, Bill Gates was there the same day as Steve Jobs at Xerox Parc. Don't get me wrong, I'm a giant Apple Fanboy, by facts are facts.

  • classic moments from the movie! i love how hollywood hollywoodized the story of microsoft and apple inc! very entertaining movie.

  • I am shamed and embarassed to have windows on my PC.

  • First of all, even if Steve Jobs "stole" the idea of graphical user interface, Bill Gates has nothing to do with it. It doesn't concern him IN ANY WAY what kind of relationship was between Apple and Xerox. Moreover, Jobs told that apple spent time and money to improve and fix the stuff from Xerox; and Xerox didn't mind about Apple having their ideas.

Second, Bill Gates was given Machintosh prototypes to write new software for it; INSTEAD, he pirated ALL the software made by Apple and sold ashis

  • jobs: were better then you are, we got better stuff

gates: you dont get it steve that doesnt matter

    yep sounds like microsoft

  • steve jobs is the best movie bad guy EVER!

  • Noah Wyle = Keanu Reeves

  • Bill Gates BSODs when he comes.

  • I like it when Noah's like: We're better than you are. And Anthony comes back, with his hands on his waist, like: In your dreams, pumpkin! XDXD

  • @guisimple my favorite line in the whole movie.

  • @EpicUnknown the hamburger represents the computer and the cheese is the little software things that Xenox gave Apple, and then the special mustard Windows has is the operating system Windows installed on Apples products to make them work

  • @EpicUnknown wtf

  • @54321thedeathbed okay buddy, lets say Xerox made a hamburger and put cheese on it 1st, Xenox gives the cheese to Mac to make Macs burgers better and asks for nothing, Mac gives the burger with cheese to Windows so that Windows can put there own special mustard on it like they did to every Mac burger before, they put on the Mustard, but take some cheese for themselves, there wasnt a rule against Windows taking the cheese, so Mac is mad that they didnt put a rule on it

  • @CoolKabbage They didn't copy from Xerox, they left the door open.
