For the record, although most of the Appalachian Mountains are mere hills compared to what you're probably used to, places like the White Mountains, the Adirondacks, parts of Maine, the Smoky Mountains, Mount Rogers, and parts of southern Virginia do actually compare to the kind of peaks out west. A ton of the mountains in Colorado might be 12,000 or 14,000 feet, but who cares if it is rising from a plateau at 8,000 feet? It's just the same.

  • You can deffinitly tell that guy just loved breaking off the rime ice ahaha

  • hope they power their weather station with a wind turbine...

  • @gvanderleun Yea, Will unfortunataly in this day people steal videos off the web like crazy. As a videographer we have to do something to protect our videos.

  • 2:11 i would def be doin that...

  • Are you manning the observatory as a job?

  • Some day, I'll be up there, too. Since I was in middle school, I've wanted to be an atmospheric scientist. Since I was in middle school, I've loved nature and the wilderness, and have hiked everywhere in the White Mountains. Seriously, I HAVE to get into the Mount Washington Weather Observatory's internship some day.

  • Why is it so cold and windy on mt washington the mountain isn't even that high compared to mts out west

  • u ruined the nice formations :(

  • Lol like a kid playing in snow! Love it man!

  • That's crazy.... I mean its hardly even a mountain. It's only 6,288 feet...
