  • @Extremedecadence1 Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • great drumming!

  • chased out of edinburgh by hibs casuals whom they had slagged off in an article just prior to playing a gig there, bundled out in back of van lol

  • @mangledwurzel I'll say

  • Couldnt stand the farm. Were just trying to be The Happy Mondays. Songs were crap and peter hooton just looked like he was 'having a go' at being Bez and Shaun Ryder in one.

  • loved the farm & loved the word. excellent viewing before going to dancing on a friday night.

  • @uncpapa So says the Wiki thing!

But I knew Hooton a little bit as a kid (rather our families sort of knew of each other), he's 3 years older than me and we both moved away from Everton quite early. But he definitely worked on South Cantril Farm, cos that's where I met him again a decade later.

He may have made the conscious decision to call the band after a farm in Lydiate, but subconsciously I'm betting that the urban setting was also appropriate.
