I made this slideshow in tribute to those who fought in WWI. I used pictures I had taken during my two trips to Europe to experience the battlefields of WWI and WWII, as well as pictures from the war. The music is by Dario Marianelli, entitled Elegy for Dunkirk.

A historian theorized that one reason these men were motivated to keep going in the horrendous conditions of the trenches is because they believed they were fighting the last war humans would ever have to fight, and once they had won no one else would ever have to suffer like they did in ''The War to End All Wars''. Sadly, they were wrong. Maybe someday their dream will be realized.

Sorry forgot something in my other comment.
I think world war I was really sad because it was known at the time as the war to end all wars. But it ended up that world war II was just around the corner. So that is really sad to me.

I think World War II was truly a war that was worth the fight. This war the Americans are having in Iraq is nonsense.
