You're playing the guitar incorrectly. If this was to adjust to your key, my apologies, but Dallas plays with the capo on the second fret and the chord progression in the song is G,Em,C,D with some sleight variations depending on how you play. I play it with the capo on the 3rd fret and follow those chords and it sounds generally the same. You have a beautiful voice though.
