The Alpin is an attractive traditional folder that originates at least 100 years ago in the Alps mountains. It was designed as a simple, no-nonsense outdoor tool. These days you can still buy this classic pattern from several makers. Here we have a closer look at a refined variant.

  • @MrDagon007 Off topic but seeing as the end of the year is coming and the new year about to start I was wondering if you would do another cocktail recipe.

  • @zigzagskunket Good idea, but I am very busy to prepare my upcoming relocation, hence I cannot promise to make such a video (or any other video) soon...

  • Hi, I was just looking at the new 2012 Spyderco catalogue and saw this Spyderco Air by Gayle Bradley and immediately thought of your videos. its been a while, hope you are well.

  • @malcolmry Yes, both the Air and the Des Horn folder (and the Southfork fixed blade) would all be perfect for me. At this moment I have very little time to make videos however (preparing a move).

  • I really enjoy your knife and book reviews. I like the specifics you go into - it makes the videos interesting.

I'm a native of the land of knife makers (Oregon) - Kershaw, Benchmade, Gerber, Leatherman, etc. I also travel to your neighborhood each month (Eindhoven) for work, and I often get to België for weekends.

    Met vriendelijke groeten / Regards

    Troy

  • @ttfweb1 Thanks for the kind words and next time you're in Belgium, try to drink a Boon Mariage Parfait beer (2 variants, both mandatory)...

  • Great knife and as usual awesome and entertaining video. Thank you.

  • That is just the response I would expect from a Cylon 5 so How do I get knives to and from you in a totaly customs free method?

  • @kumaon48 I would rather be Bourvil.

  • Ahem, that was Vidocq, or perhaps Vautrin.
