he is just the best. i think he is kinda father of new generation of instrumental music. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert and all these guys came to background for me since i heard Guthrie Govan!

I don't see how the argument that John Petrucci is a lesser musician than Govan because he is "less versatile". In fact, that's is a rather absurd statement given the fact that Petrucci has studied classical, jazz, and blues, and that they show in his playing. Even more so, an artist is certainly not measured in the sum of styles they have mastered, but in their compositions. Thirdly, both Petrucci and Govan are AMAZING. Masterful composers/improvisers. End of story. Period.
