If cell phone towers are dangerous for the human psyche and physiology would it not this be even more dangerous to wirelessly transfer kilowatts? Kilowatts!!!!!! Jesus Christ, Wireless power may be safer if it were concentrated. There is a such thing as transfering power by means of laser. Oh, and this is not new technology. Tesla invented it decades ago.

Won't this require the use of waves or fields?  If so, aren't we basically submitting ourselves to dangerous levels of energy....think open microwave in your home?

No, it's near-field induction. Magnetic waves only travel fractionally small distances directly between the coils.
