@Pepsiaddicto I went the plex way.. 11" macbook air -> 700 watts of thump -> 100 inch silver screen. Plex rocks :-) so awesome combined with ipad/iphone remotes. I had a windows7/xbmc HTPC before my current setup. I had to throw it into the swimming pool it was just incredibly annoying every time I switched it on. Well, secretly I sold it on ebay, but in my mind I threw it in the pool after backing a bulldozer over it a few times. Thanks to Plex I dont yell at the TV any more.
Thanks! How would you compare Plex, with Boxee and XBMC?

@toranamunter I prefer Plex by a fair margin if you have a Mac. Boxee is not an option for me since it doesn't allow you to play music that it doesn't recognize (I have a lot of local/indy music). Plex was made by the XBMC Mac team who wanted to go in a different direction than XBMC and up until Plex 9 was mostly XBMC code.
