Shegoband is a Somali arts group who resides in Toronto, Canada. Established in 1991, Shegoband has performed in many countries in Europe and North America. Notably, in 2005, the group toured through the United States of America and promoted Somali culture and music to school children and on stage to non-Somalis. Also in 2005, Shegoband was sponsored by the BBC world service to perform in Cardiff, England. Shegoband has recorded and sold 12 albums and collaborated with other Somali and non-Somali artists in the production of more than 30 albums.
