The Simpsons, Toyota Corolla ad brought me here.

these commercials suck hard! totally condescending! the idea at the heart of them is correct and more education is needed in having a healthy lifestyle but do it in a way that doesn't make you want to change the channel as soon as the advert comes on!
-
not to mention, kids will think that this will make them immortal
-
I don't think they mean destroy games in total, they just mean go outside during the day thats really it.

Who is gonna pay their pensions (!)

I agreed with you till you threw America under the bus for no reason.
This is an obviously English commercial, dimwit.

I don't see this as anti-game propaganda, or whatever you want to call it. Yes, I sit on my ass a lot of the time and play video games, but I also go out skiing and running. I do yoga and I dance to my iPod when nobody's watching.
This advert may mostly use video games as an example, but the whole point is to have balance.
It's kinda ironic, too, because the UK is most of the reason I watch TV. Because they have Doctor Who. And Robin Hood. And stuff. Makes sense to me.

old people are just hating because nobody made pong for the 360.

While videogames only made a small appearance in this clip, the rest of the Change4Life campaign seems to equate video gaming as the reason why kids are unhealthy.
Interesting, really... More than half of guys I know play videogames, and have played games since they were kids. Less than half of them are overweight or otherwise unwell. To me it seems that this is strictly an American problem, nothing I have to worry about.

seriously people get over it. its not as if theyre saying "GAMES WILL KILL YOUR CHILDREN", theyre just trying to promote better living. and besides what do most disconnected parents THINK their children do with their time? video games.
That line at the end about not living happily ever after is extremely bad for children who have yet to come to terms with the reality of mortality. I would like to thank Change4Life for terrifying my little brother when he realised his own death was inevitable. You're supposed to break that kind of thing gently, not have satanic clay figures just throw it in there willy nilly.

They don't seem to have heard of simply playing videogames in moderation.
There's nothing wrong or fatal about watching television or eating fast food, it's all about moderation. I just detest the way they've branded these things as outright bad for you, it's important to enjoy yourself and relax too.
