Hi Jon thnx 4 reply. Yeah that's the onlt T i know that actually seems to LIKE water. Seen one catch a fish.
Dont know why my chromatus does it. Try and film it at some point.
Keep up the great uploads Jon. If you could do a feature on ur P.metallica, i'd appreciate it. Still haven't managed to get one in Uk yet. They sell so quickly.

Hi Jon
good vid. don't handle my chromatus or coloratovillosus. Both way too skittish.My chromatus dives into the waterbowl on occasion when disturbed. She actually submerges herself.3 inch juvi F. You see any T hide in water before? Out of my 80-odd T"s she is the only one that does it.

@MrTarantula70
the only T I've seen do this is Hysterocrates gigas. Rob made a video of his actually submersed in water

you say 'dont even bother handling them' mine used to flick hairs alot but not now. it has never bit me ever. it goes into threat display but then runs away. all Ts are holdable, they've just gotta get used to it.

Specimens WILL vary in personality. I know it's something you're not going to like to hear, but tarantulas are cannot understand human interaction. They will never get used to be handled frequently...if anything it makes them more aggressive... That's what happened with G.pulchripes. I handled her very week, until she nearly bit me. Even the most docile species can surprise you. That is why I don't recommend handling any species especially ones where you play with fire

@Jon3800 i see your point, trying to handle them could possible stress them out, but i aslo seem to have the most docile c.crawshayi, i can handle her whenever. as with all my T's, but i do see your point.

It doesn't only stresses them out, but it also puts both you and T in danger, the T from falling and you getting bitten (human instincts are drop something if it hurts). With Pelinobius muticus (C. crawshayi is no longer a valid latin name for the king baboon, it's been changed) you do have to be aware the venom is medically significant. Rather odd for them to be docile. I have 2.5'' female and is ill tempered.
