You know...that ships looks a lot like the collector ship from mass effect 2....maybe mass effect was a shout out to this maybe....

@mryddlin im pretty shure with the state of my current morrigi game i could take it on (maseson weapons, DN's, very good shield unlocks (still researching). If im lucky i can research maeson shield or the gravimetric one. But the thing is of corse, my main fleet needs to be where those little mother**** is. Never encountered one but it looks scary, hope of more such nice stuff in SotS2

I took out system killer with 3 barrage capital ships using detonating antimatter torps, meson beam batteries, antimatter cannons, and cutting beams. Used allot of point defense too. That thing is tough as hell.

Faces one once, and killed it, but I threw everything at it and the kitchen sink. Lost something a world, something like 12 dreadnoughts, several support cruisers, a mess of assault cruisers, but my Siege Driver DN (I threw it in the mix for what the hell factor) had the final word.

after a lot of battles, finally, I found it weak point... I only use a few cruiser with camo and antimatter emiter. Yeah, i have killed the system killer. 'an abnomalous object has been destroyed in system...' if i remember

nice!, I was barely into the cruiser stage if I recall so my options were really limited.
Thankfully it only destroyed one of my systems before heading out of the galaxy

I only encountered it once, I was lucky it only eat one of my systems (it eat a few others systems but they were enemies :) )
It's a nod to the old Star Trek episode from the devs.
