This is my creed, precisely my thoughts on life and spirituality. Hadn't expected to find them recorded at any point in time, but not surprised they would be voiced by Spock. Images mostly from BBC, (with a few of Paul & Linda McCartney mixed in for good measure.)

It was pointed out that the words are in fact a poem called 'Desiderata' by Max Ehrmann, which is a revelation. But Nimoy's recording of it is indeed called 'Spock Thoughts'...

  • I first heard this about 1 year ago on bbc 6 music. I searched for the name with the lyrics but could never find it. I gave up my search but for some reason today I thought to search again.

    Thanks for uploading this

  • @puretroubleman You're very welcome, I'm glad you were able to enjoy it again :)

  • Really great speach, I agree with that. My life experiences show me the same way ... but tell me, why can't be metal music in this type of video? :-D

  • @mstar87 That is great idea ;)-

  • Desiderata is one of my favourite poems, though it is more philosphical than poetic. I guess it depends from which angle you are looking at it from. It of course can be both, in any case, a favourite... Oh, love the Paul and Linda footage! I believe this British/American pair were true soulmates, their love was always evident in any film/photos you see. Very nice video clips you used, brought out the words effectively.

  • @PassionateMistress Thank you - I feel the same about Paul and Linda and they came right to mind visually for that part of it, and whenever I think of soulmates. I'm glad you felt that the clips fit the meaning... seems like this video has resonated well with people who enjoy the words and that's nice to know! :)

    AWESOME!

  • he got the last few words wrong. He says "be careful strive to be happy", but the original poem is "be cheerful, strive to be happy"

  • Love this!!

  • Leonard Nimoy is a wonderful poet and photographer, besides being "Spock"...
