Bowhunting Pheasants

Some bowhunting action from our "currently in the works" TV show. We're hunting pheasants at The Gobbler's Knob Pheasant Hunting Preserve in Pa. We practiced a bunch with the recurves and planned on taking some birds with stick and string, but with shotgun backup for missed birds. It's definitely harder than the aireal disks that's for sure.

Would love to bowhunt pheasant with my long bow,just curious, what type of heads did you use?if you used broadheads do you allow your dogs to retrieve?I would be worried about them being injurded by a broadhead.Great video and nice shot.

@porchfinder Broadheads were a mixture of different brands for different archers. The dogs were trained to be called off of arrow hit birds, so it wasn't a problem. Bird dogs are usually trained to retrieve birds after the report of a shotgun, so using the bows confused the dogs to where the owner had to tell when and when not to retrieve.

Nice Shot ... even though most of the arrows missed they were a lot closer then I could get with my crossbow ... lol My buddy shot a nice little ring neck the other day with the bow too ... first one I ever seen shot with a bow ... actually it was the first ring neck I ever seen up close ... Nice Video ... Keep them coming ...
