My fundamentalist mother continually made me feel like I was a sexual being who could make a man lust, even tho I was a skinny kid with no breast or sexual thoughts. I was taken out of 6th grade square dancing to sit in the hall, beat for doing the twist to Chet Atkins, banned from public swimming, & made to dress like the Amish in a public school. The result was unpopularity, bullying, humiliation, lifelong depression, suicide attempts, etc. That kind of oppression IS ABUSE!!!

While I am a Christian...you are absolutely right about the abuse! And not only physical abuse. My father was a Baptist preacher, & my mother went off the "fundamental" deep end, when it came to me.
