@reguthon man, you are great! i did never cared about the fn button! it's a great idea!

Wait what are your lens again?!
-
@zpollack96 yes. but very very slightly. there will be no drastic improvement in speed.

@BigK2G I believe you can take repeated shots in IR mode. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this particular product though. I would recommend the Phottix BP-D60. It's more sturdy, doesn't have battery trays to lose, there are fewer steps to using it, and the finish more closely matches the camera.

@Chaarmaarc the D40/60/3000/5000 family of cameras are not designed to use grips. It's perfectly acceptable to use one, but Nikon didn't design a way for the grip to communicate with the camera. when using the IR sensor, only the IR source (the grip in this case) will trigger the shutter. You have to switch back to a standard shooting mode to use the regular shutter release. I would set the function button to change your release mode. Then you can change between modes significantly faster.

So when i installed my battery grip. whenever i put it on remote mode. the other button wont work. why is this? and it was working. how would i use the vertical and the regular one?

hey can you like...take consecutive shots while holding it down (the vertical grip) or you have to take like individual shots...? cuz i'm thinking about using it for sports...though it's for portrait...
