This is one of the most sublime compositions I ever heard., Maybe this piece was not written by a simple mortal? Definitely this grade of beauty must come the world of peace and beauty, no sorrow, no pain just peace, beauty, fullness.
@ZeekWolfe1 I can't blame you at all. Even as a believer, I didn't darken the door of a church for many years. It sickens me to see what Christians have done to the church as a whole. So many times, it's a "social club" type atmosphere with little "clicks" of people. I go to an independent church now that basically started with people like me, who were sick of "church as usual". We do things alot differently and I hope it stays that way. But if not, I'll have no problem leaving again.
@MoosicandCritters The last time I attended a regular church service was in October 1995. I've forgotten what the minister said, but the soloist was beautiful with the voice of an angel. She sang "I WALKED TODAY WHERE JESUS WALKED." A mere five years later I attended an Easter service in a mega church. No one told me that I would need hearing protection from the guitars and two, that's right, two sets of drums. That's the last time I set foot in a church. I will never return.
@ZeekWolfe1 I completely agree with you on the music, some of the crap they put out there these days does not glorify God in my opinion. I've been a believer in God all my life, and it is amazing how much the music has changed from the 60's until the present day. I hate the newer style so called "gospel" music. (if you could even call it 'music', that is.)
Even though I'm an agnostic, I enjoyed listening to "Night Sounds" with Bill Pierce. And then the local religious station changed formats and went to the excreable Christian rock. Awful stuff! If you want to promote Christianity, loud twanging guitars, even louder drums with silly lyrics isn't gonna get the job done.
@1548sunnyskyjan When did Bill Pearce pass away? I have grown up on listening to Nightsounds. I knew everytime I heard this theme song that Bill's wonderful voice would soon come on with words of encouragement, and music to lift the soul, and music to honor the Saviour. Do you remember the duet of Bill Pearce and Dick Anthony? Bill would play the trombone while Dick would be the lead singer. Even as a boy I listened to and was blest by the music as well as the message. I miss hearing them both.
