I will continue to celebrate the memory of Columbus and my Spanish heritage. The conquest of the new world laid the foundation for our modern civilization and that makes me very proud to be of European heritage. No jew, negro, or indio is going to fool a true European with this fake guilt trip nonsense.

@mrmichigan97 Columbus made it so Europeans can take over and colonize the New World leading to the founding of America. It is pretty significant I believe.

@TheAmericanDefender he was a Spanish funded Italian imperialist who forced people in to slavery. Its fair to say he was a product of his time but even without the various atrocities he was still just in it for money. He wasnt looking for some land to start a new, free nation he just wanted some gold and slaves. So, maybe given the time he can be excused to an extent for his actions but while maybe he shouldnt be demonized quite so much he doesnt deserve a federal holiday.
