Rare footage of stand up comedian and entertainer D.G. Corte, who had a moderate run in the mid 1950s, but quickly faded from view because of his older style of comedy.

  • I believe he was under contract with American International Pictures. Before the drugs and the booze, Corte made a couple of films with famed "actress" Wendy Wilde. Word around town was that there may have been a little hanky panky going on there.

  • That happened during the period Corte was teamed with Shelley Berman by the studio to form a new comedy duo to compete with Martin and Lewis there have also been murmurs of a love child, who rumor has it once sold real estate in Canyon Country

  • Come to think of it I saw him making a comeback attempt at the Shriners auditorium. He appeared with Jan Murray at the Shriners convention around the Spring of '70 and was quite funny. When I told Tom Jenkins about it he remarked, "Big deal, where in the hell is Dickie Skeen?"

  • Corte's career was over the moment the chairman of the board caught wind of how close DG was getting to Joey Bishop

  • He's nicked them trousers off Chubby Browns flying siut.

  • I recall he worked "blue" on an episode of The Woody Woodbury Show in 1967 - effectively killing any possible comeback. He was relegated to the Rusty Warren circuit.

  • I saw this guy at the Bijou Theater in Battle Creek, Michigan around 1957, and he was great! I wondered whatever happened to him!

  • Wow. They had mullet haircuts in the '50s. And Shure 58 microphones. And sh!t comedians.

  • this is not from the 50's , its a fake, look at the chair in the background, and really look at the film , good try and he's not even funny !!!

  • @elpresley This person must think we're all silly... this was made within the last 5 years. But why even bother to go the trouble post this dross and say it was made in the 50's? Some people have too much time on their hands and really should get a life....

  • Ok i guess whoever posted this must think we're silly, this was clearly not made in the 50's. there so many errors here that show it's not the 50's that it would take me all day to list them. I think it was made shortly before it was posted around 2006. I also think the person who posted this has other You Tube accounts so he/she can write here and say they saw him... possibly has friends do it too. Buy why go to so much trouble..... ? Very odd

  • If that was made in the 1950`s than I am Saddam Hussein. That was made a short time ago. You only have to look at the Microphone to know that that is not an old one. And shooting pictures from that angle was impossible at that time, when Kameras has been heavy weighed. So why do you try to tell that that clip was made in the 50`s?

  • They both have crappy hair plugs.

  • michael keaton?

i was waiting for him to say..... "im Batman"
