The guy playing the Earl in that sketch with Don Knotts is none other than Pat Harrington Jr. A voice actor for years, Harrington was the voice of the French Inspector on the PINK PANTHER cartoons but his wide-spread fame arrived in the '70s and '80s when he was typecast as Schneider on the TV show ONE DAY AT A TIME.
