im glad that the bordelais is making efforts to educate their inmates and such. we, as americans, should be looking for more ways to reduce recidivism. who knows what some criminals may be able to accomplish if you put them to the test.
if criminals who have paid their debt to society aren't allowed to merge into society, then all they will do is return to crime. im sure that most criminals don't want to be in the position they are in and would change it if they could, but they aren't allowed to and aren't encouraged to.
But why should i, a person who hasnt been to jail, a regular member of society, have to be thrust into the company of a person who has broken the law. How do you know they are going to live a clean life. Want to know what you learn in jail, CRIME! You learn more crime, not math, not science, nothing useful except how to commit your next crime.
They need to earn a second chance! You can't expect law-abiding citizens to go out of their way to make it easier for people who refuse to obey the law.
People do not want to give those that come out of jail another chance because they see that they have a bad permanent record. This leads to those individuals who were released from prison reverting back to their old ways and doing what they do best, crime. If owners just give them a chance, they are more likely to live a clean life and stay away from the prisons they were once in.
It may be flawed, but how should we change it? I mean who do we look to in order to fund it? Do you want to ask hard working people who DON'T commit crime to help these CRIMINALS get employed when they leave prison? No you cant ask that of people
our system doesn't give criminals enough incentive and opportunities to succeed once they are set free. they've supposedly paid they're debt to society, yet they cant get many jobs, and the ones that they can get offer awful pay. changes should be made that offer people more and better choices once out of prison, so they are less tempted to commit another crime.
I think that recidivism is caused more by the inclination of criminals to repeat criminal activities than anything else. No matter how much we try to re-integrate them into the system, some people are just determined to break the law, regardless of their circumstances.

this system is definitely flawed so we should put a lot of effort into fixing it and giving criminals another chance
