Im in Bucks and we also had a GMC. As you said, nightmare to work with and a bugger to drive.

I used to be retained(part time) here at this very station back in 2000 - 2001 and the then old 4x4 appliance (a GMC double cab) was just a nightmare to work with + extreamly crampt - I certanly envy both the current retained and wholetime appliances as I'm told by some of my mates who still work there that there pretty good - would much like to see the return of the HP or TL back there.
Yes as for the day crewed station thing I believe that it is shift crewed at this present time.

i always thoght Bucks were unique with there tones,,,,,wasnt it something to do with ther old chief designing things on fag packets, aint there were there super tanker came from

North Wales also use Martinhorns as well - including bull-horn !

aint it called a martins horn and i think i read sum ware that bucks are the only brigade in the uk to run wi them

This used to be a Day Crewed station, but went shift a year or two ago
Sound like them dont they.

They are wholetime but they also have a retained truck aswell
