i was waiting for the bomb to drop as i cruised the persian gulf, in the mid 80's. iran & iraq were slugging it out, and i watched the oil burn.

@gmills65 Couldnt agree more with ya, but atleast the music was good back then :3

On the subject of Devo: great band - true originals! New wave, post-punk, geek rock, post-punk new wave, whatever you call it - fuckin' fantastic.

Oh no, things are so horrible, things were so much better in the...(fill in the decade). It's all a load of shite. I've been hearing this for 46 yrs. and it's still not true. Just take the era this album was released in, things were worse economically than they are now. Just a few yrs from Vietnam War, political assasinations & civil rights riots in the 60's and little over 30 yrs from WWll & the holocaust. Wow, things were so much better then. Quit looking back through rose colored glasses.

It's now 2011. Look around at the human condition. DEVO was right.

One of the best, most underrated bands of all time. This album and Duty Now for the Future are both gems. Though I'll admit that my favorite song is probably Wiggly World. I was lucky enough to see them live several times "back in the day", they did amazing concert sets.
