Lapponia Jewelry enters the second half of its first century with a striking collection of 22 novelty pieces featuring all Lapponia artists. This spring the focus lies heavily on silver, but gold has not been forgotten, either.

THE RUGGED BEAUTY OF LAPLAND RENDERED INTO JEWELRY

Lapland Silver is a homage to Nordic nature: with its pristine snow and glimmering ice reflecting the pale light of short winter days and the dazzling colours of the aurora borealis in the nights, the untamed beauty of the nature in our northern latitudes remains an important source of inspiration for many of Lapponia's designs.

As their names suggest, the rings Gioia and Fortuna are bound to bring joy and good luck to the person wearing them. A personal message may be hidden inside the locket-like Segreto (secret) necklace, the round Informetta (a little piece of information) pendant on a black silicone band is a message in itself. The pearly shimmer and the delicate shape of a natural spring are captured in the small Fonte (well) earrings.

Two other pieces by Björn Weckström give us a glimpse of the starry firmament: Volans is the name of the Flying Fish constellation in the southern hemisphere -- captured in a sterling silver pendant on a silicone band or in the form of a necklace.

GONE WITH THE WIND

The yellow gold Dancing Wind collection presented in autumn is now followed by its sterling silver counterpart entitled Graceful Wind. The Dancing Wind and the Graceful Wind collections are completed with the new Flowing Wind rings that are available in three different materials: yellow gold, white gold and sterling silver.

TIME OF ONE'S LIFE

Christophe Burger, the unrivalled master of forms and words, has introduced a new addition to his Circlestances Collection -- earrings featuring two hoops of different sizes that form a
harmonious whole. Airie earrings are as light and dainty as their name suggests.

The two lines in the Passing-by silver brooch portray the time that two people share and experience together. The lines cross and go in the same direction, until they cross again and part.

The shape of the new silver cufflinks bears resemblance to a certain traffic sign, thus the name One Wayz. An amusing coincidence or a deliberate reminder that life need not be a one-way street? Draw your own conclusions.

LET IT SWING

Pekka Hirvonen's Swing is a new solid sterling silver creation in an organic, fluid design. The swirling shape of the Swing necklace captures a swinging motion which continues in the chain.

LITTLE HIGHLIGHTS

In Western musical theory a cadence is a progression of chords concluding a piece of music. Inspired by cadences, Zoltan Popovits created Cadenza, a set of necklace and earrings available in 14 and 18 carat yellow gold.

After many years of absence Zoltan Popovits returns to his beloved Origami theme. To celebrate the ten-year milestone of the series, two new Origami pieces are introduced this spring. Origami 823 is a necklace with a removable pendant that can also be worn as a brooch. Origami 825 is a multi-functional brooch with a clip mechanism that enables the piece to be fastened to a scarf, tie, lapel or even hair.
