Welcome, my friends, to Part 6 of the fan-made translation of Ganbare Goemon 3! This installment contains the following:

Scene 30: Baby Needs a New and Shiny Prize
Scene 31: The Cat Strikes Again
Scene 32: I'm not a Ghost! (NOTE: For those of you who are confused as to what a "Noppera-bo" is, it's basically a faceless ghost. I'll go into greater detail in the blog.)
Scene 33: He's Stronger Than He Looks
Scene 34: The Bath Lover

A fairly quick translation for a video that's somewhere around the average in terms of length. It was somewhat rushed, but I think I got most of it. See anything I missed/got wrong? Let me know ASAP. Comments, of course, are always welcome and greatly appreciated.

As usual, I'll be getting the blog up to date with info on this new batch of scenes very soon. The script will also be up there for the impatient and easily frustrated people out there (like me). Pausing frequently while watching the video is recommended.

EDIT: Finally, somebody mentioned a mistake I made early on. In Scene 34, the line from Daikichi is most likely "I have to hurry back to the Mechanical Park" rather than "I have to hurry back to the Mechanical Pack".

EDIT2: The blog has been updated. http://goemoninenglish.blogspot.com

  • Too bad that this appears to be the closest thing to a walkthrough on the net, and it skips all the useful parts!!!

  • @fireseed23 Actually, there's a guide on gamefaqs (and probably other places as well), as well as video walkthroughs on Youtube and other sites.

  • Since Tamiko felt the need to cake his face so thoroughly with wrinkle cream, it makes me wonder just how bad his wrinkles were!

Tamiko: "I can tell you how bad, using no more two words- 'fault lines'."

I'm having a hard time convincing myself that something called 'fruit milk' could possibly be anything other than gross-tasting. And this time of year, I think I'll skip the fan part, too! Brrrrr....

"Was that really an adult conversation?" Sasuke, you're sayin' what we're all thinkin'.

  • I think Tamiko is a woman...But anyway, he/she must've had a lot of really bad wrinkles.

You don't think fruit milk sounds good? Hmm, I'm not sure I agree with that. I guess it depends on what types of fruit are used, and how much. Strawberries would be good, for example. And a fan is good for a lot of the year, but I could definitely do without it for now.

And that's definitely NOT an adult conversation.

  • Oh, you know, I forgot all about strawberry milk- that was always on offer in elementary school cafeterias, wasn't it? Maybe it was available during the rest of grade school too- but after 6th grade I always found somewhere to eat other than the cafeteria, so I wouldn't know! I suppose then that strawberry milk isn't so weird. But I'll pass on the watermelon milk... Or apple milk... *shudder*

  • Yeah, now those last two don't sound too appetizing...

  • i really appreciate your work ^^ and i love these series !, i play them now on Znes =]

  • Ah, thank you very much! It's good to see that some people appreciate my work. And I never thought that could be the reason she wanted the lemon so badly, that's a good theory.

  • Nevermind, I just found her. How did I miss something so obvious? Sorry for the trouble. ^^;

  • Ah, I also wanted to say something else, much more substantial. For one thing, these videos are wonderful! I'm getting so much more oout of the game being able to understand this little snippets of dialogue, so thanks for taking the time to do this. And I love that you went to all the trouble to help explain what nopperabou are. They happen to be my all-time favorite yokai. Also, I think the reason Tamiko wants the lemon is rubbing lemons on your skin is a folk remedy for wrinkles.
