    Well, it seems to have helped finaly ! I wasn't expecting for you to send me her whole family tree, but thanks nonetheless. I'm not a genealogy specialist, I just think broadcasts like this one are an interesting way to learn more about history. And in this case, it's a hell of a story !

  • a very interesting family history!

  • @19Edurne brooke shields<=francis shields (1942-2003)<=marina torlonia (1916-1960)<=marino torlonia (1861-1933)<=teresa chigi della rovere (1831-1864)<=leopoldina doria (1811-1843)<=luigi doria (1779-1838)<=léopoldine marie de savoie-carignan (1744-1807)<=louis-victor de savoie-carignan (1721-1778)<=victoire françoise de savoie (1690-1766)<=victor-amédée II de savoie (1666-1732)<=charles-emmanuel II de savoy (1634-1675)<=christine de france (1606-1663)<=henri IV de france (1553-murdered 1610)

    OK, let's try again : if you look in part 3, at 7.16, you will see the scroll with the tree of the Torlonia' family. There, we can see it's not an ancestor of Marin who married Madame Royale, but his great grand son or daughter (Carlo or Carla, I cannot see clearly enought), who married one of her descendant : Marin Torlonias himself isn't Madame Royale descendant. As BS says, it's another branch of her father's family.

    I hope this time it helps.

  • @19Edurne No, sorry. This does not help me at all. I would be very interested in finding out which Torlonia (or Torlonia ancestor) is the one that married Madame Royale. Who was this missing link/

  • @Fedesha The Medici were from Florence, so it's quite understandable that their daughter "Madame Royale" married into italian nobility : after all, she was half italian herself.

    I hope it helps.

  • @Fedesha

    The link is that the descendants of her ancester Marin Torlonias married into a noble italian family having at some point Madame Royale as ancester. Catherine de Medicis (1519/1589) became queen of France by marrying the future Henri II and Marie de Medicis (1575/1642) married Henri IV (Brooke's ancester) and was queen of France until 1610 when Henri was murdered.

  • I am still puzzled on what the connection is between the Torlonia family and Madame Royale??
