  • @skiingmedic Sounds like you've had a bad experience with volunteer EMS. Can't say I don't disagree with you there. The two volunteer agencies that I work at are very good as we're staffed 24/7 with duty crews not on-call crews. But some of the volunteer agencies nearby take almost fifteen minutes to respond. Pathetic.

  • Shouldn't you make a video of how to get alerted 4 times, then call for medics to hold your hands for every call? Get a life wackers, and leave EMS to the paid professionals. Namely, the paramedics.

  • I'm proud to say that I'm a Volunteer on a first aid squad! I've been a volunteer since April of this year. I'm starting out as a cadet and soon that will be changed to Cadet - EMT-B.

  • jolly vollies

  • @djarmy326 Agreed

  • @ICEMANof92 Everybody asks me the same damn thing. Why does everybody want to get paid instead getting that feeling that you're making a difference. If you ask me, that's more greater than getting a paycheck.

  • @jaselee4 Why do a job without getting paid? Because you get your satisfaction from knowing that you are keeping your community safe and helping people, not from a paycheck. Good fire depts and EMS agencies have high standards and provide extensive training to ensure that their personnel, volunteer or otherwise, are competent. Plus, volly emergency services saves taxpayers money.

  • I've seen this video 500 times....oy vey. I like how the longer i'm an EMT, the more people I know from this haha

  • why do they undermine anyones job? i realize that paid emts do not get paid decently for the job they do....and it is baffling, but if there were no people willing to be volunteers i daresay their would be a great shortage of critical first responders just as there would be a shortage of firefighters if there were no volunteers. these are good people that want to help their communities regardless of financial gain....and they should not be discouraged from doing so.

  • great video, but if mike merlin works for UMDNJ- robert wood johnson, why is he at fuld ( capital health ) in trenton?
