The acquired skills are learned and stored in the brain as neural signals and they don’t get passed on. This is different from the basic instincts some animals show eg. fish does not learn to swim and birds don’t learn to fly. Therefore, the skills Bodhi Dharma acquired through years of practice will not be stored in his DNA. So, how can a distant relative in that pedigree acquire the same skills just by having DNA sequence similarity? Sometimes the movies don’t get the science right..my 2 cents

I'm looking forward to watching this movie. I'm also Tamil and I lived in a city in Japan for some years where they have a shrine for the Bodhidharma. In fact, he is a symbol for the city and is found in many parts of the Japanese culture. I was surprised to learn he was a Tamil man. I hope my friends in Japan can see this movie too. I know they will find it amusing at the least. :)
