Margaret's story - an AU version

*PLEASE READ FIRST*

After i saw amazing AU videos i decided to give it a try ^^
This one is dedicated to dear Zosia aka Melodia222,to thank her for all the friendship and suport and specially bc her creative spirit is such an inspiration for me!



Plot:
Margaret and Darcy were like one spirit together, they were so alike in tastes,in tempere and ideals,that no one was surprised when they announced their engadgement.
But just some weeks later, Darcy's father died, and left a huge amount of debts,that was now Darcy's responsability to pay them. He had to sell the remain properties and
join the army,to earn money to marry with the love of his life.
Margaret had to say goodbye to him,and she felt so lost and sad to see him leaving ,but she knew that no matter how long, they will be together.

Margaret and Darcy,wrote to each other in all the chances that they get,and she told him, that she need to get away from their hometown,everything remember
her of their love...so in that way she decided to live with her grandmother,in the north.
She arrives there, and it's so different,she felt that she doesn't belong their...
The time went bye, and she is still discovering the city,all those strange places and people,and all the sudden she felt that someone is watching her,she look back and saw that a misterious man it's staring at her and she doesn't understand why.
That man it's Thornton, a mill owner,that saw her for the first time in the train station,and for some weeks now,anywhere he went, Thornton was allways seeing her and felt his heart beat so fast,so he tried to know everything about her, and how much more he discovered,more he was falling in love with her. But the day that she look back at him,something change,he felt that she didn't knew is existence and he felt hopeless.

Meanwhile,in one of her walks she decided to enter on a factory,and she felt overwelmed,just a feeling that she couldn't explain,then she saw that man again...she felt drawn to him! She get out of there so confused that she didn't know in what direction she would go.

Two months went by, and she doesn't have any news from Darcy,and Margaret felt her heart so heavy, she just knew that something happened...a couple days later the police went to her house,
and told her that Darcy was killed on a riot,and that they found her letters on him. Margaret felt that her entire world vanished,that her chance for happyness and love died with him!
For the first time in her life she felt alone and filled with sadness...
Meanwhile Thorton watch her and just want to get close to her,he cannot bare to see her suffering like that.

Few years later:
Margaret is well adapted to that town, now she feel that she is at home.Because of her grandmother,she knew Thornton, and has time went by,they have became friends. But Margaret was confused
about her feelings...she felt that something was different,she now was seeing him with different eyes but she couldn't bare if he ever notice that, and most of all,she felt that she is betraying Darcy's memory,the love of her life. So in a glance,Margaret decided to leave the city for good,and just try to forget Thornton,well just convince herself that she is not in love with him.
When she is on the train,Thornton is the only thing that run into her mind,then she realize how fool she was,she is trully in love with him, God had give her a second chance for happyness.
She left on the next station, and go in a train back to town,when she is
arriving,a man told her that it's happening a violent strike on the city...She almost faints,thinking if Thornton is in danger and if she is going to loose again,in the same way someone that she love!
Margaret run to the factory and try to protect Thornton,but suddenly someone stroke her with a rock in the head..she fall into the ground...

Thornton is devasted,the woman that he loved for so many years in silence ,died in his arms telling him that she loves him with all her heart and soul...He now have to live with the pain of a broken hearth and in the torments of the shadows, because the light of hope have vanished forever!
