yes it needs to stay on the bike, but its only the size of a coin, super easy to fit anywhere. and its weatherproofed.

@12oclocker I think what he is asking is if you have to permanently mount the unit to the bike after you re-calibrate your ECU. I would like to know this as well.

It will NOT lose memory if you remove it.
It uses onboard EEPROM to keep ratio programming and max speed data.

i was wonder once you calibrate your correct ratio if you have to leave the speedodrd in your bike and find a mounting spot for it..... or once your done calibrating can you just un hook it and take it out.

this is the best speedo recalibration device on the market! i've sold about 15 of these in about a month. give me some time, and i'll make y'all famous! :D
How do you clear the max speed?

Hold the button, while holding the button turn your motorcycle key to ON, release the button when the LED is RED, the LED will flash orange letting you know the Max Speed was cleared. This is in the manual as well..

How the heck do you figure out your calibration ratio?

it's on the 12oclocklabs website, there is a web-based calculator tool, manually math instructions are also included.
