The event was non-partisan. Progressives are angered by Washington's continued pandering to corporate 'fat-cats' and conservatives are angered by Washington's willingness to prop-up failed enterprise. We have a common purpose -- Washington is NOT listening!

Washington is encouraging BAD behavior. We are already paying to prop-up zombie banks and, this new "Home Affordability Plan" allows bankruptcy judges to revisit the terms of a loan? CNBC's Rick Santelli has it right, In America, a card laid is a card played and contracts must be sacred. Do we really want to teach our children, (whom this plan will inundate with debt) that there are "do over's" in the real world if the mistake is big enough?

Rally to CNBCs Rick Santellis call (is.gd/kqOL) for a Chicago Tea Party to protest Washington.

This event will be occurring nationwide at exactly the same time. The nationwide site's URL is: nationwidechicagoteaparty.com/

  • How "non-partisan" was this rally? Is the GOP behind these things? I know there's alot of grassroots support, but has the GOP co-opted this? They're responsible for the bailouts (I'm losing count), too. This movement can gain traction only if it doesn't become a "right-wing" movement. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

  • I didn't organize the event, but from what I observed it was non-partisan. It was just a group of very nice people who are concerned about the direction of their country. From what I heard they didn't like either party's spending practices. I didn't hear anyone talk about the GOP. I did see one guy wearing a McCain mask, but I don't think he said anything. The origin of this event was Rick Santelli's comments on CNBC that grew into this grassroots event. Cheers.

  • Nerds.

  • Repeal the regulation? Let's just let corporate America run the show instead of holding them accountable through government elected by the people... morons.

  • originally

  • pavilionking06 clearly the world is black and white, male and female up and down good and bad beautiful and ugly left and right conservative and liberal and of course republican and democratic. Why can't our government just be what it is, a huge centralized power house engaging in practices that best support its continued growth and existence. I of course never deny the power of the consumer or voter, if you remember a majority of (laughably and all too easily) duped Americans were for the war.

  • They all should be sited for littering! Right wing fascism is on a rampage in Oregon.

  • Right on America, Keep up the Fire ! Pro Patria doughboy

  • When they told Marie Antoinette about the plight of the people and how they had no bread to eat, she calmey replied "Well let them eat cake". These people we are up against have no clue about anyone.. they are absent minded of our concerns.

Their lies are what concern them.

Decieving many to enrich themselves. Their deciet they weave and weave all day long only to fail and forget; truth is too STRONG!

  • Where were these people when we invaded Iraq for weapons that didn't exists.. how many BILLIONS have tax-payers spent on that fiasco? OH WAIT! A conservative was running the show so it was ok.

  • Yes, it is a crime to imprison folks for non payment of a tax that isn't part of the law. If there was a provision of the tax code that actually imposed a tax on the labor of the working men and woman of America, then I would have paid it even if I didn't like it. I would have paid and filed. The truth is that there is no provision in the tax code that specifically and unequivocally makes U.S.citizens "liable" for a tax on their labor performed within the 50 states of the union.

  • I understood after I viewed your channel. thanks for the reply. :)

I agree, let's hope this can be changed because it is clearly a crime.
