The scene: a hot July afternoon on the tractor on our N.W Ohio Farm, 1963. I was plowing Dad's back 40 at the end of the afternoon. Nancy had just left me. I felt like a damned fool around the rest of my buddies because she was talking me down throughout our small community. Then this song came on the radio and I didn't cry. I burst out laughing.

PS.. Do you ever listen to a Patsy song that you've heard a billion times, and it literally takes your breath away.. Every time I hear her songs it's like the first time. Pure magic.

I love this song. I had "Portrait of Patsy" casette tape at my house and my gramma had a copy.. When I'd sleepover at her house I'd listen to it there. sighh :)
