Its amazing how pussified society is becoming. If someone is retarded and you say they're retarded then you are just calling a turd a turd. I know they wanna be equal(not at amusement parks) but there is something wrong with their brains that forces others hands in using the word. And saying retard is an offensive word cheapens other offensive words. Unlike black people who have an offensive word too, retards have been pandered to by everybody but Hitler. Keep the word retard!

I think words and word combinations like fag, chink, wop, white trash, nigger and retard are nasty words because they turn a human being into a stereotype.
I do think people take offense too easily. I have Asperger's Syndrome and I can unintentionally violate a social norm because I used a word that had a questionable connotation. Ie: I said the word fat in the vicinity of a fat person. They complained to my professor and accused me of harrassing them. I didn't even see her.
