Actors: the entire first period Speech and Drama I class becomes divided into three groups in order to complete this project, which itself has been a Speech and Drama I staple for many years.

Air Date: February 2009

Description: this is one of three "openers" made this year in which the cast reveals their character names and attempts to show their personality types through their close ups. Staying true to the Mtv Program that it's based upon, each character in the Real World opener states one of the seven lines inherent to the introduction and cause for the show.

Educational Objectives:

Students will arrange themselves into collaborative groups based upon the character types that they will select.

Students, working in collaborative groups, will design a conflict to be present in the opening scenes of their THE REAL WORLD imitations.

Students, working in collaborative groups, will compose scripts for their THE REAL WORLD imitations utilizing script dialogue conventions and stage directions.

Students, working in collaborative groups, will produce their scripted THE REAL WORLD dramatic scenes before a videocamera.
