These two old Triang 4-4-0 L1's have been restored to running order after many years. Both have odd tenders fitted a GWR and LNER respectively and tender pickups on the inside loco, tender pickups will be fitted on the leading loco shortly. They have scale driving wheels instead of the old course Triang ones and generally speaking give a good account of themselves taking their age into account as they are at least forty years old. I still have another two of these loco's in store in green livery to be taken care of sometime I can't bear to part with them.

  • There is something about the way old locos from 60s capture the atmosphere and essence of the prototype which often modern examples fail to do.

Interesting layout too, always something to look at, very good. Have you posted a video explaining the layout plan?

  • I agree with your comments. No I haven't posted a video explaining the layout plan because there is wasn't one ! It just expanded from one table with an oval to fill the double garage, the space could probably be used far better and would love to have two levels of track etc. Have a plan a friend drew up for me but haven't had the fortitude to proceed with it

    thanks for watching Simon

    cheers Stewart

  • I have a Triang industrial tank, my number 27 'Bradley'. He still works fine despite being 30 years old (although at times he can be a bit temperamental) and is a fine addition to my little railway team. Just goes to show that just because it's old doesn't mean it's useless.

  • excellent, love the L1's and the layout, well done in all respects.
