This was Elbi's first training session after a fairly long lay-off due to me preparing Buster for Crufts & Elbi being in season.

I havent done one but i will try to at some point. I basically start by teaching my puppy to follow my left hand with a treat in it then you progress to the food not being there but they realise that if they focus on the hand then the reward will still come

Once there is no difference wether the food is there or not most of the time I use the food in the left hand as the reward is quick & in the correct place

Thankyou Arlene but you have actually hit the nail on the head. Elbi only really wants to do it if I do most of the work for her...:-(. Please God one day she will really start to enjoy her obedience...:-)

Ok, and say I have done this for a few weeks and seems to be getting it good with the food but when I start to randomize the food he sometimes watches and sometimes does not, should

I correct him for looking away and when he looks back tell him YES and treat him?

I am lost on where he looks away.
